Students' Corner

On November 21, 2007, LCDHA past-president and creator of the first LCDHA scholarship, Maureen Dix, RDH along with current president, Chris Byrne, RDH presented two students from Lorain County Community College a certificate and check, each in the amount of $250.00 to help defray the cost of boards, board reviews or their membership in ADHA after graduation.

This year’s recipients are Aimee Warner and Hillary Thomas.

Aimee and Hillary wrote essays describing how they have taken a leadership role in their class and with their clinic patients.  They were also asked to reflect on what the profession of dental hygiene means to them.  Their essays were chosen among five submitted to the committee.

LCDHA hopes to continue this scholarship program on an annual basis.  We are happy to provide the students with guidance and assistance to further their careers and their membership in the association.
